Cinsiyet rolleri üzerine...
İlk olarak İngiliz toplumbilimci feminist yazar Ann Rosamund Oakley tarafından kullanılan kavram, kadın ve erkek arasındaki farklılığın biyolojik unsurlar yanında toplumsal ve kültürel olarak oluşturulduğunu ifade eder.
Günümüz iş hayatında kadının başarılı olması biyolojik cinsiyetinden sıyrılıp erkeksi rolü ne derece üstlendiğiyle ilişkilendirilir. Oysa ki iş hayatında kadının erkekle aynı pozisyonda, aynı esnek çalışma saatlerinde, aynı derecede başarılı olması beklenirken, işten çıkıp evinin kapısını açtığında bir de üstüne evlilik kurumunda rol üstlenmişse biyolojik cinsiyetinin getirdiği sorumluluklar “güçlü kadın” figürü ile bazen isteyerek ama çoğu zaman da toplumunun ve hatta aile bireylerinin dayatmasıyla üzerine yapışıp kalır.
Siyaset tarihine göz attığımızda kadının “erkeksileşme” durumunun bir sorun olarak tanımlanmış olması yeterince can sıkıcı ve aslında iki yüzlülüktür. Örneğin dönemin Demir Lady’si olarak anılan Thatcher’ın o sert duruşunun altında yine toplumsal dayatmalar yatar ve “erkek gibi kadın” yakıştırması yapılırken yine değersizleştirilen kadın değil midir?
Özetle kamusal alanda kadın ve erkekten beklenen toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin, erkek egemen sistem tarafından belirlenip şekillendirilmesiyle ne yazık ki sosyo-kültürel hayatta karşımıza kadın-erkek eşitsizliği olarak karşımıza çıkar.
Sonuç olarak toplumsal cinsiyet sorunu gün gibi aşikârken işe kız ve erkek çocuklarını cinsiyet ayrımcılığından, önyargılardan ve toplumsal cinsiyet kalıplarından ayrı tutmaya çalışarak başlayabiliriz.
Erkek egemen toplumda belki de eşit bir hayat mümkündür, hayâl edelim...
